- Class 1 (Air / Premium): uniform light-green skin, firm-mature, free of blemishes, russeting under 5% of surface, picked same-day for air shipment.
- Class 1 (Sea): same cosmetic standard but harvested at a firmer maturity stage to survive 5–10 day transits to the Gulf.
- Processing grade: full-ripe fruit for pulping and juicing, shipped chilled or frozen.

The main Egyptian guava window runs August through November, peaking in September and October. Early-August fruit tends to be smaller; the best caliber-to-aroma balance arrives from mid-September. QC Checkpoints
- Maturity at harvest: firm-mature stage confirmed by pressure test; full-soft fruit is diverted to processing.
- Brix: minimum 8–10° at packing for eating quality on arrival.
- Sorting: removal of bruised, sunburned or fly-marked fruit on the packing line.
- Pre-cooling: rapid cooling to 8–10°C; guava is chilling-sensitive below 7°C.
- Documentation: phytosanitary certificate, packing list with caliber breakdown, and photo report of every lot before dispatch.
Mixed-Container and Air Consolidation Fit
Because guava rarely justifies a full reefer on its own, most buyers take it two ways: as an air consolidation alongside figs and herbs, or as a few pallets inside a mixed produce container from Egypt.
