Egyptian Dry White Beans for Export
Egypt is one of the Mediterranean’s important origins for alubia-type white beans — the bright, kidney-shaped white bean that fills cans in Europe, stews in the Levant and fasolia dishes across the Gulf and North Africa. The Egyptian crop is prized for its clean white colour, thin tender skin and low soakage losses, which is why canners and packers keep returning to it. Careful post-harvest handling and modern sortex cleaning give the export article its trademark uniformity.
PEIVANA ships white beans both as dedicated containers for canners and as the anchor line in mixed legume loads. Our flexible-exporter model means an importer can take fifteen tonnes of alubia beans alongside lentils and chickpeas in one container — the kind of arrangement the large commodity houses rarely bother with.
Varieties & Grades
Our core article is the alubia-type white bean, offered in the commercial calibres canners and retail packers specify. Export grade means machine-cleaned, sortex colour-sorted and hand-checked where needed: purity of 99% and above, broken, wrinkled and discoloured seeds within agreed tolerance, and moisture around 12–14% for stable storage. Cooking and canning tests can be run against your specification before contract.
Sizes, Packing & Palletization
| Spec | Typical options |
|---|---|
| Type | Alubia-type white bean, calibrated by seed count/screen |
| Bags | 25 kg and 50 kg PP bags; 25 kg paper bags for canners |
| Retail | 500 g / 1 kg private-label polybags, cartonized |
| Container | 20ft dry: approx. 24–25 tonnes floor-loaded; palletized on request |
Season & Availability
White beans are harvested in the Egyptian spring and autumn windows, then cleaned and stored professionally, making export supply available year-round. Canners on annual contracts typically fix new-crop volumes at harvest and draw down monthly.
Logistics & Shipping
Dry white beans move in standard dry containers with kraft paper lining, desiccants where the lane requires and fumigation certificates issued per destination regulation. We load at Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna and Port Said and ship on regular services to Europe, the Gulf, Africa and Asia. Multi-legume mixed containers are stuffed under one bill of lading with a single document set.
Quality & Documentation
Standard documents include a phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin and fumigation certificate where required, with SGS-style third-party inspection available at loading. Cleaning and bagging run in HACCP/ISO-certified facilities with lot traceability, retained samples and pre-shipment courier samples on request.
