Egyptian Mango for Export

Egyptian mangoes are among the most aromatic in the world, and international demand for them grows every season. Orchards in Ismailia, the Nubaria reclaimed lands and Upper Egypt enjoy long, hot summers that build exceptional sugar and fragrance, while modern grafted varieties deliver the firmness, colour and shelf life that export logistics demand. For buyers in the Gulf, Europe and Asia, Egyptian mango offers a premium eating experience in a summer window when competing origins are thin or expensive.

PEIVANA runs mango programs with the flexibility mid-size importers actually need. Ship a full reefer of one variety, mix varieties in a single container, or combine mango with grapes or summer vegetables in one load. Air freight is available for premium ripeness programs, and every enquiry gets a same-day answer.

Varieties & Grades

Our export lineup focuses on late, transport-tolerant varieties: Keitt — large, fiberless, green-skinned with a long shelf life, ideal for sea freight; Shelly — a red-blushed premium variety with firm flesh and excellent visual appeal for retail; and Naomi — early, colourful and sweet, opening the export window. Traditional aromatic varieties such as Zebda and Sedeek can be added for ethnic-market programs. Fruit is packed Class 1, hot-water treated where the destination requires it, and sorted by weight and blush.

Sizes, Packing & Palletization

Mangoes are packed in single-layer cartons with paper or foam protection, sized by fruit weight.

Pack Fruit Count / Weight Cartons per Pallet Pallets per 40ft Reefer
4 kg open-top carton 8–12 fruits (350–600 g) ~240 20
6 kg carton 12–18 fruits ~160 20

Air-freight packs use the same cartons stacked on airline pallets, with harvest-to-uplift times kept short for ripeness-controlled programs.

Season & Availability

The Egyptian mango campaign runs from June to October. Naomi opens the season in June–July, Shelly carries the mid-season, and Keitt extends supply from August into October — giving buyers a full summer program from a single origin as Indian and West African seasons wind down.

Logistics & Shipping

Sea shipments travel in reefer containers set at +10 to +12 °C (mango is chilling-sensitive) with controlled ventilation, loading at Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna or Port Said. Gulf ports are reached in 4–8 days via Sokhna — a natural fit for sea-freight mango — while Mediterranean and North European lanes run 8–14 days. For premium ripe-and-ready programs in Europe and the Gulf we ship air freight out of Cairo with 1–2 day delivery. Asian and African lanes are quoted case by case.

Quality & Documentation

Every consignment carries a phytosanitary certificate and certificate of origin, with hot-water treatment certification where required by the destination. Fruit is sourced from GLOBALG.A.P.-certified partner farms and packed in HACCP and ISO-certified packhouses, with dry-matter and Brix checks at harvest and pulp-temperature verification at loading.
