Egyptian pomegranates combine what buyers in the Gulf, Asia and Europe look for in this fruit: deep external colour, ruby arils, high juice content and a sweet profile with just enough acidity to feel fresh. Grown mainly in Assiut and the reclaimed lands of Upper and Middle Egypt, where hot days and cool nights intensify colour and sugar, Egyptian fruit reaches markets early and at cost levels that undercut most competing origins during its window.

Varieties & Grades
Our headline variety is Wonderful — large fruit with deep-red skin and arils, the international benchmark for flavour and shelf life, well suited to sea freight. We also supply Baladi, the traditional Egyptian type: sweeter, paler-skinned with rosy arils, strongly favoured in Gulf and North African markets. Fruit is graded Class 1 by caliber and colour with sound crowns and clean skins; Class 2 is available for juicing and wholesale programs.

A 40ft reefer typically loads 19–22 tonnes net depending on pack style. Single-layer packs are recommended for premium retail programs.
Season & Availability
The Egyptian pomegranate season runs from August to November. Early Baladi and “116” types open in August, with Wonderful peaking September–November. Cold-stored Wonderful can extend shipments a few weeks beyond harvest for buyers who book storage volumes early.
Logistics & Shipping
Pomegranates ship in reefer containers set at +5 to +7 °C with humidity management to protect skins from desiccation. We load at Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna and Port Said: 4–8 days to Gulf ports via Sokhna — the largest destination for Egyptian pomegranates — 8–14 days to Europe and the Mediterranean, 14–25 days to Southeast Asia, and regular services to African markets.
Quality & Documentation
Each container moves with a phytosanitary certificate and certificate of origin plus destination-specific paperwork. Fruit comes from GLOBALG.A.P.-certified partner farms and is packed in HACCP and ISO-certified stations, with checks on caliber, external colour, aril colour and internal condition recorded before loading, and photo reports shared with the buyer.
