Egyptian oranges are the backbone of the country’s fresh produce trade and one of the most competitive citrus offers anywhere in the world. Grown in the Nile Delta and on reclaimed desert farms along the Cairo–Alexandria corridor, Egyptian Valencia and Navel oranges develop deep colour, high juice content and Brix levels that importers in the Gulf, Europe and Asia rely on season after season. Abundant sunshine, mild winters and mineral-rich irrigation water give the fruit a long shelf life that holds up well through extended sea transit.

Varieties & Grades
Our core commercial varieties are Valencia — the world’s leading juice-and-table orange, with excellent internal quality and outstanding transit tolerance — and Navel, the premium seedless eating orange with easy peeling and a distinctive navel end. We also source Baladi and blood oranges on request for niche programs. Fruit is packed to Class 1 export grade as standard, with Class 2 available for processing and wholesale channels. All fruit is washed, waxed, sorted electronically and hand-checked before packing.
Sizes, Packing & Palletization
The standard export pack is a 15 kg telescopic or open-top carton, with counts from 48 up to 113 fruits per carton depending on caliber. Smaller 8 kg cartons and branded retail packs are available for supermarket programs.

A 40ft reefer typically loads around 1,600 x 15 kg cartons (approximately 24 tonnes net) on 20 pallets.
Season & Availability
The Egyptian orange season is one of the longest in the Mediterranean. Navel oranges run from December to March, and Valencia from December through June, with peak Valencia volumes from February to May. This window lets buyers bridge the gap between Northern and Southern Hemisphere supply at highly competitive fruit and freight costs.
Logistics & Shipping
Oranges ship in 40ft reefer containers set at +4 to +6 °C with fresh-air ventilation, loaded at Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna or Port Said depending on your carrier and destination. Typical lanes: 4–8 days to the Gulf via Sokhna, 8–14 days to the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, 14–25 days to Southeast Asia and China, and short crossings to East and West African ports. We coordinate bookings, loading supervision and document dispatch end to end.
Quality & Documentation
Every shipment moves with a phytosanitary certificate and certificate of origin, plus any legalized or destination-specific paperwork your market requires. Fruit is grown on GLOBALG.A.P.-certified partner farms and packed in HACCP and ISO-certified packhouses, with residue monitoring aligned to destination-market MRL requirements. Pre-shipment inspection reports and loading photos are shared before the container sails.
