Varieties & Grades
The workhorse of Egyptian winter production is the Festival variety — conical, glossy, deep red and firm enough to travel, with the sweet-aromatic profile buyers associate with premium winter fruit. Newer high-colour selections are available for specific programs. Export fruit is picked at the correct maturity stage for the destination, graded Class 1 with uniform colour and size, and packed the same day in chilled facilities.

Air pallets are built to airline ULD specifications; short-sea reefer shipments to nearby markets are palletized on standard bases at 0–2 °C.
Season & Availability
The fresh export season runs from November to March, peaking December–February — exactly the window when Gulf demand spikes and European local supply is absent. Weekly programs can be fixed for the full season or built up gradually from trial shipments.
Logistics & Shipping
Most fresh strawberry exports move by air freight from Cairo International Airport, with fruit pre-cooled to 0–2 °C and delivered to Gulf destinations within 24 hours of harvest and to European hubs in 1–2 days. For select nearby markets, short-transit reefer shipments at 0 °C can be arranged from Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna or Port Said. Every shipment is temperature-logged from packhouse to handover.
