Navel and Valencia oranges are the backbone of Egypt’s fruit export program, and pre-season planning lets you lock size grades, packing and container slots before demand peaks. The season calendar
Navel oranges open the season from around December and run into March, offering the seedless, easy-peeling fruit that Gulf and European retail programs want for the winter. Valencia follows, carrying the main volume from February through June with the juice content and shipping durability that make it the workhorse of the category. Baladi and mandarin lines fill in around them. Knowing which window your market needs lets us schedule packing and reserve reefer space in advance rather than scrambling at the peak.
Sizes, counts and packing
Oranges are graded by count per 15 kg carton, with common export counts of 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88 and 100. Larger counts such as 48 to 64 suit premium Gulf retail, while 72 to 100 serve juice and value programs. We pack in telescopic cartons and offer mesh bags and consumer packs where a retail buyer needs them. Fruit is graded for color, skin finish and Brix, and every carton carries the count, class and lot code for traceability.
Fitting citrus into a mixed container
Not every buyer needs a full container of oranges, and this is where a flexible supplier helps. Citrus travels at 4 to 6 Celsius, which sits comfortably alongside other chilled produce, so oranges can share a reefer with compatible lines. Certification and quality
Our citrus runs under GLOBALG.A.P at farm level with packhouse food-safety certification, and we arrange third-party inspection on request. Loading is from Alexandria and Damietta, with reefers pre-cooled and set before stuffing.
